So i have spoken to the Third Party Insurers who have accepted Liability already and given a part payment. They now have said if i find i am not happy with the payment send them three examples of vehicles higher than theirs to dispute it.

Yeah they didn't even look at it. All computerised now. Just tell them the damage and that's it.

You tell them the damage they type it into their computer and an algerruthum works it out. I think these days if the damage is 35% or more of the value of the car they won't repair it on old cars as not with it.

No I'm not buying it back.

Crazy. Few quids worth of used parts and you’d never know it’s happened.

Yes I know there is more to it than that, hire cars etc.

I’m sure that will be back on the road sometime soon though.

As I am going through the third party insurers they are being very helpful and willing to pay more as no solicitors costs or ambulance chasers costs either.

I'm being handsomely rewarded for it.

That's the best way to do it IME (it's certainly what I would have tried to do)! :thumbsup:

It does seem a shame that it is getting written off with so little damage, but if you get a decent valuation that's the most important bit. And as you said in an earlier post it means you can look for a 3 litre! :lol:
