door panel removal

Post by Tysonwills » Wed Sep 20, 2017 1:57 pm

I have tried adjust the window alignment problem using all the adjustments from the 2 screws under the door moving the latch and packing the seal, all to no effect .I am getting no leak but the wind noise is terrible.
Apparently all thats left is to align the window because it looks like it is to far forward.
so there are 2 options remove the door panel and get to the window or remove the extenal door handle.
Both seem to be a bit involved what do you guys think what be the best option.do i need to remove the airbag module removing door panel,
and apparently the door handle removal needs a special tool.

Nah it's a piece of piss! Changed mine last night it took Bout 7 minutes.

One t25 torx behind the airbag sign cover

Remove the drivers door handle trim by sliding up to reveal 2 more t25 torx and then one behind a circular cover behind the door opening handle

This video explains it very well

Is this something that can be fixed with the door card removal or is it something the dealer needs to sort, but dont want to spend their high prices.it is driving me mad as I love the car but dread the rain

door panel removal

Window is not sitting on the rubber seals. Glass is too high by the look of it.

door panel removal

Post by Tysonwills » Wed Sep 27, 2017 7:49 am

Ok so I got the panel removed as you say jamie_z4 not that hard.
Adjusted the glass a number of times and the angle back and front seems to be right and height seems ok to the problem seem to be that the glass is not close enough to the rubber and when it closes it over shoots and goes over the top of the rubber back as in the picture, but if i hold the glass in as i close the door it fits perfect as it should.
Is there anyway of making the glass push closer to the rubber after you have tried the under door method and frame latch method.
