Just fitted a stalk and modified the cowling to a pre-facelift model, unbelievably easy to do! Paid about £75 at the stealers.

Thanks for the how-to

Currently looking at a quote somewhere in the region of £380 to have it retrofitted to my facelift version. Was interested that they needed an hour and a half of labor to code it.

So to confirm it does not actually need coding into the car? If so may look into saving myself a large sum of money..

My 05 Pre facelift didn't require it, though retrofitting the wiring loom will easily eat that 1.5 hours

Yeah they have quoted if I remember correctly an hours labour to fit and then another hour and half to "code it into the car"

Hi

Can anyone that's done this on a 2005 post 04 tell me how long it took ?

I'm a bit worried about cutting wires.

Has anyone got any photos as the BMW drawings are not too clear.

Thanks

I recall it taking me less than 2 hours. I didn't cut any wires, just removed some of the plastic if I recall correctly.

Try Sopers Lincoln by phone or Cotswold BMW via the BMW Land Site as both will be cheaper than £78 I'm sure.

You really don't need the cowling as modding your current one is dead easy.
