New wheels and tyres

Post by Smurfalot » Mon Aug 21, 2017 1:54 pm

I have wanted to get rid of the runclats for awhile, and would've needed to have 2 rear wheels welded and all 4 refurbished...
So went for new wheels instead..
Also down graded from 19" to 18" wheels...

honestly, on an e89 18's look a bit too small/cheap.

Especially those fox motorsport? with the plain center caps  I'm not a fan! but I can see the benefit of a better ride.

New wheels and tyres

I like the look
19's suit the E89 better, but cos they are black (graphite/gunmetal?) the drop in size isn't as noticable

I really don't get the "18 inch wheels are too small" for the Z4 arguement. Firstly, it's opinion as far as aesthetics go, and if you put a car with 18's next to a car with 19's you can hardly see the difference, and secondly the 18's are by far more comfortable and quieter, not too mention cheaper! The bigger the better arguement for wheels is rubbish. (Or am I just gettting old?) 🙂

I think it would pull it all together with a black roof as there's just something missing. Just my opinion

New wheels and tyres

Thanks guys, I like them, and I have had sooooooo many positive comments at work. :D
The tyres, are Avon ZZ5.. Not what I thought I would go for, but they had an excellent rating when I researched them, and they feel pretty good so far. Done about 200-250 miles on them so far, so very early days.
