Bit of a dilemma....your thoughts?
Doesnt the service pack until 2019 go some way to softenening the extra 4.5K or am I missing the point.

Bit of a dilemma....your thoughts?
Ive sent you a PMKugaman1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2017 3:24 pm Hi all,
As you may know, Ive arranged a deal on an E89 Z4.
The car is a 2009(59) 2.5 sdrive SE, immaculate, with 22000 miles on it. FSH, 2 owners.
Extras from standard at the time, leather, 18" alloys, f/r parking and a wind diffuser. Due to collect on Sunday.
I havent paid a deposit so could walk away from the deal without any issue.
However, Ive also seen the following:
2014(14) 2.0 Msport in grey.
Has done 28000 miles, FSH, 1 owner from new and has a service pack valid till April 2019.
No fitted extras but is better specced as standard than the blue one even with its extras. This is the LCI model so has the LED DRLs.
I reckon I could get the grey car for £4500 more than the blue one.
This would be a little bit of a push financially, but we will manage.
Question is, what do you all think?
Which would be the best buy for a car I hope to keep for several years, doing roughly 5000 miles a year at most?
Im in a real dilemma!

Sooo,
Been an eventful afternoon, test drive 2 2.0 turbos today.
First this:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 500&page=1
Stunning car, only 8k miles.....pricey but looks superb.....from 30 yards. Took my son with me, he's been a mechanic for 12 years. He noticed, it has had a bump. Front bumper out of alignment, overspray, tyre outside edge bald and masking tape in front and rear parking sensors. Car did look amazing but on closer inspection.....no thanks!
Second was this:
https://www.gumtree.com/p/bmw/fantastic ... 1255696712
Tidy enough. Owner took me out in it and he fairly gave it a hard time! 2.0 turbo is nicely quick! Car had a few dinks and needed disks all round, 2 tyres and wheels refurbed. Offered £14500 to cover the work but he wouldn't go for less than £14750, so we've said we will think about it.....
All in all, a bit disappointed in the state of both cars. Hopefully the straight six will be better tomorrow!

I think what you want is a loved car, I would wait for it to come up on the forum AND it has to be from a known member, request enough photos coz most members have enough photos of their cars and even ask for a video call and agree a price over the phone, go and collect it anywhere in the country.
But again you will have to be patient and it has to come from an active member where you can see all his posts and issues in the past.

Based on what I have read I would take the first car. If you have time take them both out for a decent spin and make you derision.

As Mentioned,
Will be viewing the blue straight six tomorrow. Same owner last 5 years and done less than 300miles a year. Sounds like his baby. This was the first car we started communicating on, over 3 weeks ago. Maybe its destiny?
Tomorrow will soon tell...guys seems really nice and loves the car.
Will update tomorrow, we might be driving home in it if all is well!

Bit of a dilemma....your thoughts?
Hi
I changed the angel eyes bulbs for the white leds and it looks a load better than the standard yellow looking bmw ones
Really easy to do and reversable if you want to.
The only other mods ive done is fit the smart top module and fitted the later chrome side indicators which really update the looks
All very easy to do
Tony

Cool thanks.
Well, Im now a z4 owner!
Did the deal on the Deep sea blue one this afternoon and then drove home 180 miles in it!
The car is in excellent condition, having been really well looked after by its last owner of 4 years who only did 300 miles a year!
It was amazing that the thing did 40mpg over the trip, even though I was testing the performance a few times.....
There are a few rattles from around the cab, but I will look further into them over the next few days. The paintwork is really clean and almost mark free.
It just feels like a good, well looked after honest car. Im delighted with it, especially the price I paid for a 2 owner, 22000 mile car.
Photos to follow once Ive run my machine polisher over it and added a layer of ceramic coating.
Next step is to get some other 18's as the wife isnt keen on the fitted ones. - they will be used as winter wheels if I can find a suitable alternative.
Also plan to upgrade the angel eyes to led bulbs, but still trying to find out if its worth doing, there are a lot of conflicting reports on here!

I bought a 23i a few months back with 40000 on the clock for £12500. The car looks brand new. I had a 350z roadster prior to it. Yes it is down on power but the straight 6 is silky smooth. I'm the same, 50 years young and done all the fast bikes etc. I love driving it and really can't see myself ever selling it on.
