I've used sticky stuff remover but it's not always easy to triumph over that stuff, prepare for a fight! :o

You need a solvent. Glue/gum/tar remover of any description.

UPVC window cleaner works for me , i have it from work but its readily available online & covers a mulitude of tasks https://www.amazon.co.uk/Everbuild-PVC1 ... vc+cleaner

I used evostik glue remover. Had to let it soak in and then it scraped off using a piece of plastic.

Did this last week when changed to my Summer tyres. I couldn't get WD40 to work but I thought it would :?

In the end, I went to my local Romanians, who used (a very little) hydrochloric acid diluted with water and the wheel then thoroughly washed with water.
