Improving my rear end.
I've been looking at ways to improve the car's rear end. I think we all agree the back view is the most 'challenging' on the e89.
I'm not convinced the rear m sport bumper is an improvement over the se. I might try wrapping the lower section on my se in black c.f.to see how it looks. The car may get an m sport front bumper this spring as I do think they look more aggressive.
My other thought is a subtle boot spoiler, not some GT3 replica ironing board but a thin c.f. type. I'd leave it black to match the other black bits I've added already. Might look good on a silver car. Anyone on here fitted one? I've seen a couple on E bay might be ok.

Be careful what you add on, I think it would be very easy to make it look tacky

I have a small boot lip spoiler installed on my E89 and really like it, fitted over Xmas.
Can come in carbon fibre style or undercoated (I went for undercoated and then painted black). Fitment is pretty good for an eBay special, delivery was 2 weeks and manufacturer in China emailed through different stages. Attaches via 3m automotive tape, have used before and is very solid, I wouldn't bother drilling (have fitted boot spoilers to my previous BMWs).
Very crap photo from last week, can take a better one if you want. The rest of the car is dirty bar the spoiler and surrounding area so colour doesn't look exact match - it is.

Interesting thoughts. I considered a black 'band' of very fine mesh vinyl on the bootlid between the rear lights. A little like ferrari. It would probably widen the rear view .sammyz wrote:I've been looking at ways to improve the car's rear end. I think we all agree the back view is the most 'challenging' on the e89.

Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

I put the M sport rear on my car and I don't like it, looks odd like part of the bumper is missing, like the above pic.
