They are a direct fit yes but I don't think many people in this forum would ever consider them, in other terms they are "tacky".

I do believe I smell a little snobbery in the air.....or maybe everyone this list has a more attuned palate than mine...(I am an American after all...)
My E89 came with them installed and I assumed they were stock until a gathering of Zed owners at a bar one night a few towns over... There were 9 Zeds in attendance and 4 had similar lights. On the way to the lot after a couple of hours and a few drinks, a number of guys wanted to see my car and asses the deal I had made. There was some immediate talk as I opened the doors. The Z next to me opened his doors and the difference in brightness of my LED projector bulbs over his incandescent bulbs was significant. We talked the mod to death and I learned they were not OEM and cost about $9 for the pair, but all agree the BMW roundel image emitted much more light and caught the eye of 3 or 4 non-Bimmer owners who wondered if they could be had for other models. Turns out they come in a host of images from every manufacturer imaginable., I removed one once to check for a water leak in the door. They were 'plug and play', had adjustable focus, cast a very sharp image and took 10 seconds to replace. In the six months I have owned the car, I don't think a single passenger, who has ridden with me after sunset has had anything other than "COOL! THAT is neat - and bright too! " to say when they saw them light up on exit. Maybe they snickered behind my back, but probably not - as they were all Americans too!

It seems a sense of humour isn't a prerequisite for using the forum!

They are available OEM.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

$150 from BMW. http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/5056/ ... PROJECTORS
i wouldn't pay that, but i would get the $7 ones from ebay.
and i would shine them proudly in all my "tacky" glory.
BMW owners are already viewed as elitist douchebags. please don't add to it.
