Hi I have just had a full set of injectors and gearbox leak fixed under bmw extended warranty, £2000 plus ,this is on 4year old 35i with 18000 on the clock.

When I researched the long cranking and rough idle it appears to be quite common on the 35i

The question is, do you want peace of mind and no hassle in the event of a claim? Then go for a manufacturers warranty every time. May cost more money but will avoid argy bargy at the dealer in the event of a claim. :D

£408 with recovery seems reasonable to me, if you don't take it up then you can't really go back right? Did they inspect the car?

Forget looking for 3rd party warranties. They will spend £2000 on legal to avoid a £2001 payout.
