E89 35is 70k miles

Last time someone brought this up, the general consensus seemed to be Castrol Edge 5w30 was the best, right? Is this still the case or are there any others I should consider using instead, and why?

Oil as tyres is subjective & will divide opinion
My preference is for Millers CFS or Nano
Yours being a twin turbo heading for 400bhp performance id want something up to the job

last month I got oil and ecp was trying to tell me the castrol magnatec was cheaper and most modern cars now use it. I always thought magnatec was for diesels don't know why. Anyway as I've always used castrol edge in all my bmw's so I got that instead. Since then seen a few mention they always use magnatec

magnatec was £30 and edge was £37

if you use one of the codes can get edge for £32 at ecp

The specs on Castrol Edge are suggesting the CASTROL EDGE 0W-30 for the N54. That's ok right?

mr wilks, is this the Millers one you mean? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pv-98942-mill ... mentNotes=

Yes mate or Comp Fully Synth CFS is equally as good & a bit less ££
I buy Millers because I think its top notch quality oil & not for the supposed enhanced performance from it
When I put it in the ZM it was particularly for its qualities of lowering friction therefore keeping things as cool as poss :?

There are many reviews online to read & can't ever remember any negative ones . All make interesting reading

For the mostpart I would agree but M cars were developing problems that pointed to crappy oil or excess heat or both
The turbo cars also develop much heat & any way of keeping that down has to be a advantage , oil being the coolant + lubricant for the engine is probably more important imo than choice of fuel :o

Castrol Edge for me. Never had any issues with Castrol oil in any of my cars over the last 33 years. Never used anything else.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks! I've decided to give the Millers a try and ordered that. Will be interesting to see if I can tell the difference!
