Show off your Aftermarket Alloy Wheels

Post by 35i-Nut » Fri Jan 01, 2016 6:42 pm

I'm looking to replace my 19" 296 alloys will aftermarket rims

http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/296

Have any owners replaced them for aftermarket rims ? Please post up pics or info , looking for some inspiration

Would also be very useful to post up if spacers were used ,if you have kept with the staggered front rear set up and reused the run flats

On the favorites list at the moment are

AXE EX15

And TSW Bathurst

Z4M-2006 has some M4 wheels on his grey 35is if you hav'nt seen them, they look fab IMO.

CSL'S don't suit the E89 so don't go there..!!

I really like some of the Quantum and Ispiri wheels at the moment....... Some real nice designs.

I think the E89 is quite a hard car to get wheels to look good on...

Very nice rims those ! , how much were they ? , did you need to replace your tyres or fit to existing ?

I want to be able to reuse my OEM 19" RFT at the moment as they are all virtually brand new

These are 18" BBS CK's with 20mm spacers, however I'm sure someone has fitted the CH-R's to an e89 and they looked very good

Worth bearing in mind that whilst you can fit the existing runflats to aftermarket alloys with no issue its unlikely they will function as intended for emergency's .

I read somewhere that alloys suitable for RTF's have a lip on the rim, if alloys don't have this lip you can't fit RTF's to them, before you purchase a new set of alloys it may well be beneficial to ask if they can be fitted with RFT's

You can still fit any rft to a standard rim & they will function just like any other tyre but unless it was specifically designed for a rft then it won't work as intended should you get a puncture

The tyre itself is no different apart from a stiff sidewall to run on when low pressure .
Its the alloys designed for them that have a 2nd lip inside the rim that aftermarket alloys won't have

18" rims do seem to look too small on E89's
