Z4 with new shoes

Post by techathy » Sat Nov 14, 2015 1:53 pm

I'm not convinced by the sidewall of the front tyres, I may change for 245/35, they're currently 245/40, but the rears are perfect IMO

Are they vreds on the rear? I love the tread pattern on those. The front profile looks fine to me, the 35s in mine leave the alloys so vulnerable :(

Unless you plan to drop the car why would you want to reduce the 40 to 35 ?
I think they look more than fine as is

Looks ace to me, an even deeper anthracite would look fantastic!

-Tom-, no they're Uniroyal Rain Sport 3

mr wilks, They're definitely not wrong, but when I stood back with the OE front the car had this lovely slightly raked look.

It's dark anthracite with sliver a chrome blown on from the front. The problem with this wheel design is when it's dark the wheels look really small & the tyre huge.

And for the weight:

Front wheel & tyre:
OE - 23.7kg (255/40R18, 18x8)
New - 20.5kg (245/40R18, 18x8 + 10mm spacer)
Saving 3.2Kg per wheel

Rear wheel & tyre
OE - 25.1kg (255/35R18, 18x8.5)
New - 21.1kg (265/35R18, 18x9)
Saving 4Kg per wheel

Total saving - 14.4Kg
