Hi,
I been running winter tyres for the last 3 years - however an my winters do not have tyre pressure sensor on them.
This has not been an issue, however I been told by an ex BMW engineer that TPS not working can effect your ABS and stabilisation etc - so there is an increased chance that the car could go out of control.
Is this true?
Can you turn this feature off? (as I am planning going for some non-runflats) for next spring

Re: Winter tyres soon - but TPS
Bought BMW winter wheels. Didn't had tyre pressure sensor in the summer ones either. Seems to be no problem with the ABS or the stability control. (I drive like a maniac almost daily )

Unfortunately you can't turn the new tpms off from (April 2014) I'am running winter set up without tpms sensors. Have a small light hard standing on the dash. I went to buy the sensors & after speaking to a couple of the techs at bmw, they told me to save £300 it ONLY effects the runflat indication on the new set ups. My cars been fine the last 2 months no problems at all. Wish I hadn't bothered only had frost once last 2 months lol
