Hi all

Can you add speed cameras to the sat Nav?

Cheers

Hi there,

I did enquire about this a while ago, with many of the online, "unofficial" map upgraders and it seems there is no way this information can currently be added to the maps in the nav.

I just use Waze on my phone as the routing is 1000 better than BMW RTTI!

If you have your phone and use Waze it will warn of camera locations. My wife uses her car sat nav but has Waze on too ... the only snag is that it drains your phone battery.

Well I have found http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/subscription.php as been the most complete speed camera database and is updated daily, with static and mobile. As police forces need to report were speed cameras are going to be possitioned. Been using this system for 5 years - and not found anything better.

However you do need your phone - in my case iphone on all the time

Went shopping to Glasgow at the weekend and got done by a van in a new location "for me". Reckon I was about 75-80 average as I came around and got the brakes on. 4 points off in Feb and another 3 back on!

Mobile camera so nav wouldn't have helped anyway but it would be good to have this. Sometimes I use Navmi for the phone in the family car which has a function where other users can report a mobile camera which alerts everyone else. A mobile camera community.

Irrelevant anyway as I wasn't using it this time!! :(

Just after Tynedrum on the double width downhill bit before Crianlarich. A van had pulled over to let me by and I went, turned the sweeping bend and there he was half on the verge and the edge of the road. We will see what happens but there definitely was a guy in the back next to the camera as I saw him. Was doing 50 by the time I drove by. All depends where he was focused as I got on the brakes quickly.

Have seen them there before.
Always have a look down there and loads of times there are vans parked and in the back of your mind you think its the cops and hold back.
Hopefully if you were 75-80 you might get let off.

Dont think it matters now Ronk. If your over and they have evidence then that's it as far as I can tell.

My father was done in a 30 zone a few years ago and the stated speed of the offence was 31mph!!!

His only driving offence ever and he will be 70 this year.

1 mph over - not the way to get folk on side is it?
I'm coming up to the same age as your old fella and like him I've been very very lucky.

That's it confirmed. Caught at 76 so may have four and not three points again. Will find out soon enough.
