Thinking of selling my 2009 35i...

Post by H9 BJT » Sat Oct 03, 2015 6:29 pm

Hi,

I'm considering letting my 35i go but have no idea what I should expect to get if I went for the sale. Your views appreciated.

Spec is pretty high:

- Sapphire Blue with full white leather interior
- Sat Nav pack
- Manual
- Electric heated sports seats
- Connectivity pack and teleservices
- Electric fold mirrors
- Wood interior trim
- Wind deflector
- Extended storage
- PDC

Mileage 51,000. Overall very good.

Many thanks
Current Z4 SDrive 35i : Just perfect... But fancy a drive in 35is
Previous 3.0SE 2003 Roadster : Pretty quick and great design
Honda VFR 800i : Rapid two wheel transport

Sapphire blue? Do you mean Deep Sea Blue? For any buyer who has been looking they might question if you don't know the correct colour what else is misrepresented or don't you know?

The spec you've listed isn't 'very high' you seem to indicate that you have the pure white design package, if so the wood trim is part of this pack. Is it a M Sport or non M Sport model? That makes the difference in how much can be realistically sought for the car as M Sport is more desirable. It's also iDrive, not Sat Nav pack. I know it acts as a Sat Nav but that just one of the features it has. Do you have the media package? Cruise Control? Adaptive suspension? Adaptive headlights? Comfort access? Comfort pack? To name but a few extras.

Maybe use the VIN Decoder tool to get a full build spec and list the options in the advert. That way you'll get a better idea when looking at the market of what your aiming to get based on spec and listing it fully will grab the attention of potential buyers, especially when people seem to fail to list their car fully.

Try here if you want to or need the VIN Decoder http://www.bmwvin.com/?f=2&url=/x/index ... om&ssl=off

Also, this is the worst time of year to sell.

I'm two Zed's in over the past 6 years... Loved owning both. Sadly don't have a need for a car for the foreseeable future so won't be replacing in the near term.

Oops! Deep Sea Blue, but point made very well and feedback greatly appreciated. The VIN link is also very helpful so thank you.

I just don't want you selling yourself too short when the time comes, that's all.

Too many dealers and I mean BMW AUC cars aren't being listed with a lot of the spec they have. Even independent dealers are getting it wrong too and as much as its great to get a bargain, when it's a fellow member I would hope they could achieve as much as possible for their car.

Spring time is the time to sell IMHO..

The car won't be worth any less than it is now, so why not get the 6 months driving pleasure for free ?

I will be selling my 35is when the springtime comes....

Ah yes I think I read a couple of posts mentioning a R35, well remembered.

Sorry OP back on topic, best of luck when it goes up for sale.
