That's what I noticed. Completely missed this car first time I looked through them all as I thought it would be listed as something else. It's not standard Melbourne red. Wonder if it is red underneath but wrapped on the outside like the M3 they have had on display at shows

What, like a shiny metallic see-through wrap ?

I think this is the one we saw last weekend on the way to Shepshed, I didn't see the stripe as I was driving but my wife did. Looked good but wouldn't want it .

No, I think it's a red wrap but the car will still be red underneath so when you lift the bonnet, boot etc it's still red.

Now if you get a leaky roof due to a dodgy seal, say one with a cut in it do you think BMW will replace it?

Eventually you'd have to have the wrap removed and that's going to cost to have it done properly as to not damage it underneath. God knows what it looks like under there. Hopefully in tip top condition even when removed.

You might well be right - Cindy got a better view than me and she's just told me that the car we saw did have the skunk stripe

Melbourne Red is now a metallic colour. Nice.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

It's always been a metallic colour on the E89 :scratchhead: it just doesn't really look it from the pictures.

Oh and Melbourne red is only available on M Sport models, it's the only red shade they allow for them. Non M Sport models can only have Crimson Red.

Really? I didn't know that. Ive seen loads of red e89s over the years and assumed wrongly that there was one red, Melbourne. I have learned something new today

Do they? There are more sdrive20i than any other E89 out there. In fact there is 4187 in total far more than any other. Wow! Didn't realise it was that many!!!

It seems it's the only model in E89 that BMW don't have an issue shifting
