E89 wiper blades

Post by 1Gom » Thu Jul 30, 2015 10:21 pm

Now have a E89 after selling my E85 and have a question re wiper blades. Apologies if it's been asked before but I couldn't find any detail. Has anyone fitted non coat hanger style blades and , if so, how good are they? I need new blades prior to a trip to the French Alps. The new style look much better but do they work well?

Thanks in anticipation

Didn't look too far did you? :poke: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=77303&hilit=Wipers

Anyways I've got Aero Blades fitted and they are good. I was surprised my E89 didn't have them fitted as standard as my previous E88 did as standard. Yet another BMW discrepancy. The E88 (1 series convertible) was launched before the E89 too.

I've got the Goodyear ones that Costco sell. Cost about £9 each I think, my dad bought them and I just fitted them when offered a choice from the massive load he'd bought.

I'm sure your not that old. Oh and Hi, welcome to the mad house.

Hopefully the link gives you some more opinions on the wipers too

I also replaced the wipers to aero wipers on my other halfs 25 year old R32 Skyline GTR. Worked a treat in the lashibg rain over the weekend. They work well on any car windscreen.

Ah but the new 3 series touring was designed and launched way after the E89 but as the previous E88 and E82 1 series coup and convertible came with them I would have expected the E89 which launched the following year to have them.

Unfortunately just because we are now in F series cars they don't go back and retrospectively update things like wipers even when they 'facelift'
