Sqeeling rear barkes, maybe fronts ... dooh

Post by petrolhead » Wed Jul 22, 2015 10:21 pm

Had the rear pads replaced by the dealer the other week and have noticed the brakes squeal. Have now done about 300 miles and still making a noise.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Yep, go straight back to the garage and make them do the job correctly.

Now I am starting to wonder if it is the back brakes. I checked them over and they had been done properly

I also recently replace the front pads with mintex 1144s. At first I thought it was them and took them out and fitted anti squeel pads, plus shamfered the edges plus added a slot in the middle. I also have applied copper slip.

So maybe its the front

I have the same problem.

New brake pads (part of a £850 servicing job done by BMW!!) and I get the squeal.

I had the edges beveled and still no difference :o
