Dent in Rear Speaker Grille

Post by Burgy100 » Sun Jul 19, 2015 9:31 am

Hi everybody,

I managed to trap the seatbelt between my Nappa leather seat and the speaker grille and damaged the seat with an indentation and dent the grille at the same time. The leather seat seems to be getting better over the last 24 hours http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f3/ ... al-t90010/ although I will try this method to improve it. Any help on the grille would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Steve

Can you feed fishing line through, to pull the dent out?
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

The speaker grill can be pulled off to allow you to work out the dent. I take mine off annually to clean them as they get dusty with the roof down through the year.

Hello Maniac,

Maybe a dumb question and probably is. How the heck do you pull the grille off? I tried prizing it off but it seemed all the other parts of the body work are holding it on. This is the speaker behind your ear as shown here

Many thanks for your help so far it's much appreciated as I have only had my new car for 6 weeks :(

I use a trim removal tool. It's a simple clip in fascia.

Maniac,

Sorted. I bit the bullet and pulled it off by hand, although I have ordered the trim removal tool. Your help has been much appreciated. Thank you
