Boot lashing points

Post by techathy » Sun Jul 05, 2015 7:48 pm

I've not got any lashing points in the boot which caused an interesting transport problem, a small heavy object moving about in the boot is NOT good. Anyway I was wondering has anyone got any suggestions on how to secure cargo in the boot of the Z4, I've not got extended storage.

I've not had an issue as the boot isn't that big. I carry gas bottles in mine from time to time and just wedge towels under it to stop it moving around. Depends what you're carrying I guess. I also find the rubber extending ties I have useful, they have little hooks on the end to catch on to something metal kicking about.

My problem was 2 nearly spherical lead counterweights with holes through the middle I can't remember if it was 2x70kg or 2x35kg (70kg was mentioned)

I tend to put weird shaped objects in a box before transporting them. Saves a lot of grief.

I find that the roof tray thingy is just about right for trapping a row of supermarket bags across the boot. Lower it down and click into place, stops the contents of the bags spilling out and rolling all over the boot on the way home.

Totally agree for most stuff which is why I've not had much of a problem up until now.
