Been reading the manual and found a section on launch control which I didn't know it had. Sounds interesting but has anyone tried it yet?
Nope - Have not felt the desire (or need) to try it tbh

Maybe one day :D.

Stop it guys you are killing me!

I'm still looking for a good one to buy as I narrowly missed out on a car that was perfect colour combo and spec. :slaphead:

All this fine weather and I could have been cruising around with the top down listening to the exhaust banging on then overrun... :(

Vid looks like pretty regular 35is acceleration. The launch control will be something entirely different I guess? I'm too scared to try it as 35is already more than enough for me!! Be very interested if someone has tried it though.

I'm on my second E89 on 326Ms with RF's. No cracks or problems and I've hit some big holes! Post 2011 cars benefited from softer compound on Bridgestone's.

It's not size, it's more how the tyre hits the edge of the pot hole.

Large pot holes aren't going to be the ones that do the damage as the wheel will tend to hit the bottom of the hole then climb out. Also they tend to have a fairly even & wide radius edge for the tyre to 'fold' around, this allows carcass to disperse the load more widely over the rim.

The real killers are deep but quite small so the wheel 'falls' on to far edge & there won't be much tread contact in the middle of the tyre due to the high curvature of the hole. The result is very high point load on the rim.

Never the less using RFT tyres dramatically increases the point load on the rims going over slightly proud drop kerbs. The same will be true of pot holes so it's more to do with blind luck and the type of pot-holes you hit.

Cheers for the previous info on the compound change Obs-com, very interesting and hopefully might make a bit of difference, but as techathy points out you have to drive like playing dodgeball, I feel a rant coming on about council cuts, general spending and issues countrywide......no must resist, keep the blood pressure down..

Anyone else find that the yellow DSC off light engaged by Sport+ is just too annoying to drive with ?

I generally last a couple of minutes before it gets on my nerves and I change back to Sport to turn it off.

can't believe how good it sounds, deep burble and lots of pops and bangs on throttle lift, the ride is superb as I like firm suspension, LOVING this car!!!!!!!!!! hope everyone is the same with theirs. :D

Have a great weekend all!!
First top-up drive in a long time this morning. :tumbleweed: OMG you can't hear anything... it's amazing how quiet it is.

Sport mode (not +), didn't floor the throttle, maybe three-quarters. I'm also a little wary of trying launch control (not until I find a nice quiet and straight road anyway). :)

I am only doing 4 miles each way to work and back at the moment ... but put it in sport mode over speed humps just to get the burbling  (and the stiffer suspension to save the crunching of the front spoiler over the humps)

:whip: Leave it!

I am looking numerous times a day and nothing is coming up on Auto Trader, Pistonheads or eBay.

I have even been absently looking at 370zs but the heart wants what it wants, so going to hang in there for a 35is. Good things come to those who wait....

Quick experiment : anyone with a 2011 onwards car had cracked alloys?

Good question Matt, might be worth doing a new separate thread on it purely as you'll prob get more views.

Went for a spin Tuesday night, got it warm, went through some lights and used 3/4 throttle up to 4k revs as still running it in in just comfort mode, it got up to 4k so damn quickly, banged through the gears and popped the exhaust on every paddle shift right through to 6th gear. This thing is rapid, felt quicker than my previous M, it's going to be mad when run in and full revs available, you would'nt know it was forced induction, zero lag.

Keep the faith James Junior, one will pop up, take it from me mate, it'll be worth the wait.

am presuming that you are searching BMW used cars on their site as there are a few 35is ex demo cars but they are a tad expensive. BMW are giving discounts on the finance at present rather than the cars which was the case when I got mine. Hopefully that may change for you.

As stated keep the faith it will be well worth the wait.
