After suffering gravel rashes on my firt E89 I am considering the 3M film for the area on the side skirts in front of the rear arches.
Has anyone applied these and would you recommend them? Are they truly invisible or do they look obvious?
If you have pics then that would help too.
Cheers

Re: E89 Skirt Protection
I would also be interested as I catch my feet on the bottom of the skirt if the gap is tight to open door fully and have to climb in my car lol.
I had some on my subaru WRX sti and sadly you can notice them but they are good protecters, they was already fitted when I bought the car as it was a demo car. I have fitted pre cut 3M to a golf I once had to stop dog feet scratching the bumber as they got in and out of the boot and that was excellent and very hard to notice it was there.
Not sure if colour makes a difference, subaru was black and golf was grey.

Also look out for erosion on the rear of the front arches, on the plastic sill.
Something worth trying that will cost peanuts and easy reversible is what I have used on the sides of my motorbike petrol tank.
Clear static cling plastic film. The sort of stuff they make those removable tax disc holders out of.

Certainly stops my trouser scuffing the tank. And if it doesn't work, just peel off, no sticky.

Re: E89 Skirt Protection
I am also interested in getting my sills protected as I am just having the sills reseated at the moment due to road rash. The only place I found so far was paint shield but they want £400 + vat.
Supra twin turbo, great in a straight, rubbish around twistys
NSX, pretty cool but no heated seats and can't get top down
Z4 23i sdrive, now gone, got the wrong car, need more power.
Z4 35is loved and missed
Z4 M40i one word sums it up Wow!
