Wouldn't even consider it.

I'm getting older now though and consider the M2 to be a more young persons car.

Possibly and probably yes in the rag top. I had a E88 135i before they added the M crap to the name and loved it. If your after a quick car with a bit more practicality then it's a great choice, assuming you want to stay with BMW. If the vert had been out last year when I was looking to change I would have given it more consideration over my 35 and probably would have bought one.

I think in every way the M235i is a better car eg better ride, handling, better fuel consumption.
The only thing for me the Zed wins on over the M is the looks. The M235i doesn't have the sleekness of the E89

Yeah, I still think the M235i is a good looking car but like you say two completly differnt cars. Better looking than a 1 series hatch IMO. Not sure re fuel consumption but it's all about how it's driven. I'm just back from up north. Did 220 miles all round, didn't hang about and gave it some good blasts and still got 238 miles left in the tank supposedly. Not bad going but then going to SS Classic I got 49mpg but I can easily get it to the other side of the spectrum and do single figures, just not on a long journey.

I think the M235i is at the top of my list at the moment, also hankering for 435 xDrive or the Audi S3 convertible, some really good choices at the moment

The S3 Convertible was a contender for me when choosing a replacement for the E88 but I didn't expect to change when I did. The fact they changed it to look more like a proper convertible was a real winner for me. I always used to get lots of attention from A3 vert owners when I had the E88. 435 looks like a beast and has a really good looking rear.......some tough choices there Sars

I did consider the new 2 series, as I felt the new 4 series was too big - compared to my old E92.

And to be honest - the 2 series, drove better than the z4, but an rag top was not an option at that time.

And size wise, reminds me an e46 for internal space
