child seat anchor?

Post by RX-78 » Thu Feb 05, 2015 12:06 pm

Quick question please!

Just bought a check isofix seat from kiddiecare but it requires use of anchor at back of the seat for use as group 1 seat. Do we have an anchor point in e89?

Your sig mentions a 2007 coupe model, which is an e86. If you're asking about an e86 you'd get a better response from that section of the forum. If you are asking about an e89 (2009 on) then these seats have ISOFIX brackets built into the seats for child seat attachment. You'd also want to ensure you turn off the airbag of course it being a front seat.

Thanks maniac! I've got e86 but I'm waiting for a delivery of e89, 41 more days to go and counting :D

The culs seat on group 1 setting requires both isofix and a rear anchor add it doesn't use seat belt to secure it. If I set it at group 2/3, it used seat belt and isofix to secure. Not that she'll be in there often!

I'm not sure about the rear anchor part. There are luggage hooks on the rear bulkhead but I don't think they're intended for this purpose. I guess you'll soon find out whether its going to fit or you need another mega expensive child seat!

Hiya, yes it does have restraining points and they are shown for such purpose in the hand book. I've got nephews I use a child seat and haven't had any issues. As for child seats, although any should work, the width of the seats can be a bit of an issue.

For photos of my isofix mounted child seat in my e89. Ours is a swivelling monster-sized seat and still fits - but it is much easier to fit with the roof down.

Do the isofix base units pop out / swap easily between cars?

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Indeed they do Ron. My mother has two in her E61 which I usually need to remove when I borrow the car for large items. Just pops out and clicks back in to place. Same in the E89 too

if they clip in and out that easily we may only need one set up for the cars and just swap between!
Although it's doubtful that I will be allowed to take it out in the zed!
(It's not due til mid March hence IT)

I don't know if one set up will do or if its going to be one seat and a base for their cars and an additional base for ours!
