Hi Matt have you got any pictures showing them straight on from the back? I would love to replace the painted ones on my E89.

How easy was it to take the old ones off?

Sharon
Supra twin turbo, great in a straight, rubbish around twistys
NSX, pretty cool but no heated seats and can't get top down
Z4 23i sdrive, now gone, got the wrong car, need more power.
Z4 35is loved and missed
Z4 M40i one word sums it up Wow!

Like I said I don't know if Monkey is making these for others as the stainless steel used was different to stuff used for the the E85's and cost a lot more to get it.
If he does want to make them and the price has to double it's still worth it as they look loads better than the painted OEM ones that you can't get clean!

The old ones are easy to get off, just pull.....or if they are stuck, tap the back of them with a mallet and piece of wood. The new ones slide on (nice tight fit) and tighten up the locking nut provided with an Allen key (I cut mine down a bit so they don't stick out)

They look smart Steve 8)

BMWs exhaust trims are pure rubbish and very poor quality, the problem is they're painted and unless waxed and sealed and cleaned weekly will start to pit in no time as the heat, water, soot etc corrodes them. Mine were starting to go and thats with weekly cleaning which is made worse if you use anything remotely abrasive so bought a spare set. The M135is trims are painted black and seem even worse, lots of moaning on babybmw. I've been using wheel sealant on mine and seem to be holding out. BMW have got carbon tips available but you have to buy the M Performance backbox for them to fit :headbang:

We're talking E89 here of course. The BMW OEM Tips for an E85 are of course top quality chrome-plate, and after fitting some MM's I just happen to have a pair available at a very reasonable price
