Just been through the phone book on mine that I picked up on Saturday :)

Prepare to say lots of numbers, but it works well...

Thanks! Just realised mine is the Professional radio, not business, don't know why I said that  . Is this what you have? I have no idea what you did or how you did it :? I guess I'll just have to keep playing around until I work it out, or fluke it!

If you press the speech button then say "Help" then a list of commands will be read out.

Then follow the instructions - some names seem to sound very similar to her

Thanks! My Parrot Neo does that, when I say 'mum' it keeps dialling 'Mick'

Great choice! looks just like mine :)

with regards to voice dialling it is exactly as Angie wrote and is completely useless. I spent ages saving my numbers only for it to erase all of them about a month later and I haven't bothered re entering them. Using Siri is far easier!

Hello.

In my experience the voice dialing wasn't that intuitive in my 2010 E89 and required a little too much effort to sort out. Combined with the fact we use 2 phones in the car I never bothered.

What I did find was that I only dial a few numbers regularly when driving and when you press the dial button on the steering wheel the screen pops up and shows these numbers straight away. Very handy. Pressing the dial button twice is effectively last number redial.

As stated earlier, using Siri is far easier. And… When I looked at the M4 a couple of months ago I noticed it stated that "pressing and holding the dial button engages SIRI". So I'm hoping that this new feature is carried over into my new E89 in March, and perhaps is a software upgrade to the Media system ?

Thanks again for all your comments and help.

The wheels were one of the things that attracted me to that particular car, they are fantastic wheels. But I can't stop looking at these
