So that's a 'Yay' for Insured Warranty.

So like most I had the usual 'should I' on renewing my Insured Warranty in August. I did and boy am I glad today. The warranty cost £270 with £250 excess. Over the last year the alternator has steadily started whining more and more to a point it now sounded like some SciFi electric car going down the road. Its been in to have another fitted today, cost £250 (the excess). The Invoice value, way over £800. Paid for the warranty nicely thanks and I still have 10 months left on it.

Well, it's in the E89 Discussion section on the Forum so I guess so.

Mine paid for itself in the first month.
It's been in twice now for 4 different warranty items and I'm guessing the total cost of work is roughly £2000.

I'll be getting them to check the injectors next time I go in for a service as I think atleast one of them is leaking.

I went with the £0 excess option which I'm pretty happy about so far. The warranty has already paid for itself for the 3yrs I'm likely to keep the car and I'm only 6 months in!

Aah, I never go in through "forums" per se. I just clicked new posts. I hadn't paid attention to the index.

How the hell do they get to £800? Do they fit it whilst wearing boxing gloves??
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?
