inner headlights

Anyone ever modified the headlights so that the inner headlights illuminate.

Always seemed a bit of a con job on BMW's part to give the impression that the car is fitted with twin headlamps, when only the outer light up.

I'm pretty sure the inner bulb illuminates when you put the steering lock on,to illuminate the inside of the corner, when the car has adaptive lights.

I don't understand this thread the outside projector is dip and the inside ordinary lens lights up on main beam as well , that's 4 lights on main 2 on dip. what other light do you want on?

I think you should look at your lights again, the dome inside the inner rings do not light up they are fake lights.

just had another look at my lights 2008 3.0si
side lights: the small bulb at the bottom of the inner lights
dip lights :the projector lights in the outer lights, look a little like xenons
main beam : the h7s in the centre of the inner lights
on full beam all three bulbs are on
and the indicators that wrap around the whole unit.
that's all I have !

Surely the difference is some are looking at the e85, this is e89 section, total different headlight arrangement.

So there is a bulb behind, for the angel eyes, but wondered if the shielding behind could be opened out to reveal the angel eye bulb or fit some kinda led in there. As there is quite a nice lense like construction on the front.
With seperate leds, these could be wired to light up with the outer main lights.

Does anyone know what year they went to the brighter white outer ring from the yellow?

My inner lense is actually gloss black, it is definitely not glass as far as I can tell. I would like to get inside though, as after 83k miles there is quite a lot of dust in there
