Wheels upgrades

Post by A1GSS » Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:18 pm

Hi folks, my 2011 E89 has runflats in 17" rims, I want to replace with 18" (probably) and non-runflats.

What wheels do people like? Photos especially welcome.

Thanks.

On an E89 there's nothing wrong with runflats!
When I need new rubber, that's what will go on again.

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

The OEM 326's take some beating, but they're 19".
If I was putting new rims on mine I'd go M6 wheels, and they do 18" if that's your preference but they will be reps.

What Ron said +1
I've had run flats on the past two E89's i've had (18" and19") and been happy with both sizes.

Here are my wheel upgrades ! on the E85 but I think they look fab

I went from 17" to 18" no problem and despite what everyone thinks I love my run flats !
I like the worry free aspect of not getting a puncture whilst carrying no spare or messing around squirting a can of cream into the tyre !

Keep in mind offset's ET29 front and ET40 rears with a staggered set up, correct tyre size is 225/40R18 on an 8" wheel and 255/35R18 on an 8.5" wheel

Or if OEM, then

These should be quite cheap on eBay now

515 I believe. Im planning on playing safe and sticking to the normal M sport wheels. Main thing putting me off is they're new so no comments regarding cracks, whether they're 'good' or 'bad'.

515 indeed. They are 18s so I bit more rubber to cushion, lovely ride, don't expect cracks unless I am an absolute tool
