This DCT box throws me abit. I have to give it quite abit of revs to start the car moving forward or in reverse. Is that normal. Its quite slow to engage reverse (when i say slow a second to engage) 1st time i've ever had a DCT. Very different feel to the 8 speed ZF box in the M135i, which was off before you even got to the accelerator.

Love the down changes sync'd with pops and bangs.

Mineral grey is that? Love that colour, really suits the car
Will be interested to know how it compares to the M135i :driving:

That doesn't sound right, it should be in gear ready to go one drive is selected. Never had this issue on mine.

Sounds the same as what Envy was complaining about in another post, he said he was going to see the dealer about it.

the dct sounds exactly like mine. i hated the slow to pull off issue when i first got it.... i have overcome this by putting it straight into sports+ and manual mode, so it always moves off quickly and i can flick through the gears quickly myself

the reverse issue is something that still bothers me, today i had to do a quick 3 point turn...... it wasnt very quick and when reverse did finally engage, i had put so much throttle on that it spun the wheels. its a major annoyance as my last 8 speed auto engaged forward and reverse gears quickly and effortlessly. not sure that the dealers will do much to be honest and will just ask me to live with it!

Is that the BMW garage?

My DCT is fine in either gear...just get it checked out.

Been without my car for two weeks now....back Friday....can't wait to give back the SLK

Yep that is the Collection bay at Williams Liverpool. I called them about issues im having with the DCT, but they said id have to bring it in etc.. But its a good 45 min drive and hassle etc.

Maybe its the way the DCT is and because me and envy have been use to the 8 speed auto which was instant when you selected reverse and the fact that the car moved without pressing the accelerator.

When i put it into drive, i need to give it alot of revs to get moving and then its fine. When i go from drive to reverse it takes a second and then needs al ot of revs to move. Seems Envy behaves the same way and his is a 2014 35is model.

any thoughts welcome

Can't comment on the DCT box but the 8 speed auto on my 20i engages instantly and moves off as soon as I take my foot off the brake. I do find a peculiar 'rocking' backwards and forwards slightly for a few seconds on selecting park, no problem but I just wonder what it is.

I think as park only locks the gearbox and does not have the same effect as the electronic hand brake. This gives a feeling of not being held firmly.
