Lazyboy - there are quite a few people here that would be interested, could you just confirm a few details so we might be able to do the same?

(I) Was it done on a BMW z4 e89?
(II) Remotely... how is that exactly?
(III) A guy. Any chance of sharing the username?
(IV) the other board. Again, any chance of sharing which board?

I would love to be able to just put this one to bed & say - 'yes it can be done', would be great if you could follow up.

Cheers - Matt

Supposedly it can be done. Topic elsewhere advises that it's a programable feature http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... p?t=571194

Infact I'm at Eastern tomorrow so I will ask

Never understood why they don't fold in automatically. Surely that's the point of speccing them, so they do just that!
Now - N/A

Then... E89 sDrive35iS(2012-2013), E89 sDrive30i(2011-2012), E85 3.0si Sport Roadster(2009-2011), Z3 2.8(2005-2009).

Hiya, yes I did and they said it couldn't be done. They also said it wouldn't work with re-wiring but that's possibly not true as I've seen that work on the 8th gen Civic, however as the smart top can fold the mirrors automatically it's clearly software.

I need them to look at my passenger side comfort access as it opens but does not lock on that side so a word with a technician using the diagnostics might show up some program options. Or I might ask a contact of my dad that owns a Indy German car garage and has ex bmw techs and he himself is ex bmw and keeps things up to date.

This seems to be a bit of a conspiracy!!! As you say the smarttop tells the existing motors through the existing wires that when it locks fold the mirrors. It must be possible to code it. Did the op come back and say how it's done?

It's clearly something they don't want to do but yes it has to be coding. The OP hasn't come back on and advised how or where they got the information and who did it.
