Wind deflector

Post by Z42b » Wed Aug 13, 2014 2:42 pm

What do most of you guys do??? Buy the original when you order the car or get it from another source?

I was out yesterday and saw a guy with a plastic see through one which looked rather nice...I may have been mistaken but I'm sure he had a sticker on it with Z4 Forum!!!

Ive heard some say that solid ones, as opposed to the black mesh bmw ones flex as they dont allow any air theough them. I have no pracrical experimce myself of the solid ones though. Anyone?

I've never understood why done are mesh and some are clear plastic - even OEM across brands... So I think Mercedes and Porsche use clear plastic for example. But there must be a reason BMW stick with mesh ? Perhaps allowing some airflow to curve back through lessens noise, or perhaps even reduces buffeting ?

We need sars - she'll know :D
Current... Silver Grey ///M Roadster, non-flimper spec, Imola Red nappa, permanent ear-to-ear grin 8)

Previous... 3.0Si Sport Roadster, Black Sapphire, Dream Red leather with lots of toys and lots of mods...

My TT has an electric mesh deflector.
It works really well but is surprisingly restrictive to see through

OK cheers guys. I was going for metallic paint, bigger alloys and parking sensors...but whilst out today we saw a white Z with the standard 18's on which looked rather nice...so I may just save on the paint and wheels, hold the parking sensors and the price I was going to pay for those 3 options is around the same as the comfort pack, which comes with the wind deflector & PS as standard!

Thanks

Comfort pack chosen along with most other options for us.
Wind deflector included as previously mentioned.
