Not a 35is you can't. 35i maybe if that was the case there would be a lot more 35is's than there is.

Currently at last figures there is in 35i variant only 241 manual non m sport model, 342 auto non m sport, 1 left hand drive one, 51 Manual M Sport model, 120 Auto M Sport models vs 210 35is.

There are currently 4 35iS available from BMW. That must be the most that I've seen for a while. at least 1 with a 'full house' spec (heat wheel, TV etc) if anyone is looking for one.
There's not an awful lot of difference in performance between a 35i with DCT and the 35is

I think Parkers guide quotes 0-60 in 4.9 secs for the 35i DCT. Quick enough?
5.1 vs 4.8 supposedly. For some a sub 5 seconds is what they want....also the 35is comes with a different exhaust which sounds amazing and is 10db louder than the 35i. The 35is supposedly shares the same engine as the 1M

"Hi

Hope all is well.

Just to let you know BMW are doing some excellent deals on the range of z4

4.9% APR with £9000 off the base price.

Drop me an email to let me know your thoughts on this."
According to the BMW site it's on the 18i & 20i models on their retail finance package, but I can't see why it can't be applied to the rest of the range. Not as good as some of the deals to be has on M5s & M6s which have been given hefty discounts and 0% finance. Sign of the current buying patterns.

I love the drop me an email to let me know your thoughts on this. Nice way to bait you in and hassle you for months
Yeah, I've had constant contact since I test drove an iS in January. Hard to justify the expense since it's easier to take public transport than drive to work. Ridiculous 2yr wait to get a parking space in the building, or I can add 45 mins to my commute and use the park and ride.
Tempting though given the noise and the increased power from your 23i. But if you like what you've got and can't justify a change I get that. I've been there recently and then gave in. I do very little miles and can totally understand that it costs mucho money even not moving. But a special car.

I think that's the thing. You can't beat the sound of the engine and you only live once. I know I'll buy one soon. Very nearly did in January!

If you can't get an "S" get a 35i and spend £500 on a remap , it will give 347 hp

Possibly not if going a BMW finance agreement as technically it's not allowed. They may never know but it's in the contract signed for finance and if anything goes wrong whilst under warranty with the engine or anything related to the turbos and ECU then kiss goodbye to BMW wanting to know.....and they'll call in the full figure on the finance still outstanding. But yes if going cash purchase or once the car is fully paid then yes  good call

More to it that just a remap though - there are quite a few changes between the 35i & the 35is.

When I was looking at it last year (before buying the 35is) the main differences that you would need to spec into the 35i were:

Adaptive suspension (option on the 35i) + lowered 10mm
Noisy exhaust (could be done as aftermarket on the 35i - cost maybe £2k for a decent job)
DCT box (expensive option on the 35i)
Mild engine tune with overboost (can get kind of similar from a chip tune for maybe £300 - £500 on the 35i)

I think a few of the other minor options are also standard on a 35is (can't remember which ones though).

All in all I think you pretty much get what you pay for with the 35is over the 35i - it's more than just a bit more power.

Price difference for a similar spec used car is maybe £6k more expensive, but you get at least the £6k in additional stuff PLUS a rarer car with added specialness. Resale value seems to be holding up better also (maybe due to not being may available).

If you price you cars like I do (cost of purchase - cost of sale when done with it after 2 years) then you may well find that the 35is become the cheaper car to own.

If it's just power your after then yes but it you want it to be like a 35is then the options above the 35u are

 18" light alloy Star-spoke style 295
 Seven-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT)
 Adaptive M Sport suspension
 Colour-coded rear bumper insert with diffuser panel  Exterior mirror casings in Oxide Silver, matt
 Floor mats with sDrive35is designation
 Front apron air inlets with matt aluminium twist motif  Sport exhaust
 Sport steering set-up
Sports exhaust (+10db)

However the amounts being given off a 35i would more than cover the costs but then is it really still worth it then?
