Options for after market sports exhausts

Post by DeputyMitchell » Wed May 29, 2013 11:39 am

I am, for now, keeping the Z4 as standard but in the future I would like to play with the sound of the engine/exhaust. Is there a link anywhere to a review of the different exhausts available for the E89? Have you got one and have details about the one you have?

I have one on my 35i, but not sure what brand it is.
It sounds awesome nonetheless. :D

This link was posted by Hairy Pussy in another thread about remaps;

There's a section on exhausts.

You can also search youtube for Z4 exhaust mods and get a good idea of options and sounds.

Thanks for that!

I have found someone who is making me a bespoke system from Cat Back. It's a duel exit quad system where I get to select the noise type and tailpipes. Including fitting and cutting the driver's side bumper it is £340! 8)

She's going under the knife tomorrow. 3 hours to fit and should sound a little better on the way home!!

I didn't go for the Quad as planned due to the cutting of the valence. So opted for just the one side. Here's a quick clip that doesn't do it justice really. Much better when driving not just revving.

Cheers, not bad for £110! It's stage 1 of a Quad. Just need to source a pre cut rear valence then he'll split and run an exit out the driver's side too.

Anyone know where I can get a pre cut rear valence from?

Thanks guys, really does make a difference to the driving experience. You hear/feel the response in 'Sport' mode much more too.

Do you by any chance have some pics of the system, what diameter pipe did they use. Sounds great, can imagine it will sound a lot better on the road.
