Hello,

I have just ordered a pair of aeroblades to replace the standard wipers. Has anyone had any experience of using these on their Z's?

Cheers

I have these on my ///M - they were on when I bought her.

IMHO they go a great job at clearing the screen.
What they dont do a great job at is ensuring the WHOLE screen gets cleared.

For this reason I will be reverting back to OEM blades once these aero jobs have finally bitten the buttet. Already have the OEM blades in the boot :)

They are far superior to the OEM blades. Just replaced mine 100x better, aesthetically they look better too.

Does the E89 have aero blades as standard?

I changed to these on my E85 - silent and efficient... however as Jamie says the far left of the passenger wiper doesnt have contact with the screen... never bothered me though!

I havent had any problems with the blades, got full contact all the way across with mine. Interesting...

No, they have the standard J Hook Conventional ones that you find OEM on the E85/86. On my E86 the air blade (solid plastic part) on the drivers side OEM wiper started scraping on the windscreen and only 10 miles later it scratched it so badly I needed to replace the screen. 5 days before part-exing for the E89, typical. Did the same on my E85 too a few years back.

So I thought I'd give these ones a go.

BTW opinion, how often should you change them as I get differing answers. ie) When ever you hear it scraping, when ever you see it streaking, after every winter coz of the road grit etc etc).

The E92 M3 we had had the aeros as standard.

Scraping or streaking can be fixed pretty easy. Get some vinegar and give the blades a rub and the same with the windscreen. Amazing how much crap comes off them, yet you cant see. Then put some rainex on the windscreen and it will be smooth as silk. As for when to change, when the blades start to perish and they are no longer effective.

Grease is the main culprit from trees road contaminants etc. Vinegar will eat through it and sort it although it does smell. You can get products that do the same thing but you will probably have vinegar laying around and wont have to pay the £10-15 difference.

:) Use white vinegar, not the stuff that goes on chips. Smells less :D
