BMW Performance Accessories

Took this pic of the Zed today

It then reminded me of this pic I took 2 years back of my former 1 Series M Sport fitted with BMWs Performance carbon roof spoiler and diffuser,

Pity BMW haven't brought out anything for the E89 apart from the Carbon Splitters, I would go for a diffuser and possibly a boot lip spoiler if they had bothered to produce the goods :(

I am 100% with you on this I really wish BMW made some exterior cf mods for the zed...I am tempted by the lip spoiler from the M3 but I don't think it will fit!

Yeah it's strange that BMW don't make performance parts for the Z4 yet do for a bog standard 1 Series D.

Would love a BMW performance Exhaust & air box for my E86

I've got the carbon mirror shells too fit but thats it. I doubt the M3 lip spoiler would fit without modification :|

When I was at Bird BMW last week they had a small lip rear spoiler (body coloured) that I liked the look of.

A small lip spoiler would look good although I would go for one in carbon for the contrast against Titanium :)

I am calling them tomorrow about a couple of things and I am going to ask them about it. On their website it comes with a front spoiler. I don't like the front spoiler and I have my splitter on anyway but I will check if it is available separately.

I just googled Birds and realised they are literally 15 mins from my place...if you dont have any joy over the phone let me know and ill pop in over a weekend

Why are they called "Performance Accessories"?

What's so performance about them?

Your 1 series alloys would probably suit the Z4 quite well, shame they're 18s. :)

Because some of them enhance performance. They do "official" re-maps for certain models, new sports exhaust systems and then other stuff like uprated brakes, sports seats etc.

I think they must only be able to justify making them for the really high volume selling models because it's always just 1-series, 3-series and 5-series.

The BMW carbon accessories look the dogs danglies and weigh virtually nothing compared to the factory trim bits, I had the Performance Exhaust fitted on the 1er as well which sounded pretty good on a diesel :D

I wouldn't go for the 19s as don't trust them staying in one piece, I actually prefer the standard 18 M sport alloys on the Zed over the 19s now.

Had the carbon spoiler and Black grills on my 1er coupe they looked good  thinking of having the Black grills put on my new35i going to see what I think of the silver ones first. :|

Did manage to have a chat with Birds ? If not I might pop into them this weekend and see what they can offer :D

Yes, sorry forgot to come back to you, £295 + vat, but that's unpainted. I was going to get one but put modding on hold for now because I'm putting my money into a new car project.

Any ideas what it looks like? Their site doesn't give much info away! I wouldn't mind picking one of these up at that price :)

I'm afraid it looks like excactly what it is, a stuck on aftermarket adornment.
Not my cup of tea!

When will they make an official engine upgrade for the 20?

I would even be happy(ish) to pay the ACS price if it had an official BMW warranty.
