Just out of curiosity, before they fit any film to the check the tint level already on the Windows as standard? window tint maximum in my state is 35%. this tint is lighter at 45%. when/if it starts to peel, i'll replace it with 35%.

No, there is a tint within the glass itself that cannot be removed. no installer would do that; remove old tint, put on new.
