Getting yourself a good looking Zed there and may i say a good choice of colour, good spec as well. How long till you pick her up,whatever length of time it is will be way to long

Collect next week I hope. Gonna buy a cheap run about for work. Wife liked the old Zed but refused to go on long journey's. Thought it would be cheaper to get a new Zed than a new wife. Dealers only cut your throat if they get a chance, ex-wives have your bollocks!

I am chuffed to bits, and simply bursting with anticipation.

Strange thing is, I went looking for a 2.5 auto, found one with fantastic spec, started negotiating and found it sold under my nose at another branch of the dealership. There were no other 2.5's with the spec I wanted. There was a pre-reg 35 with great spec but was 10k more than I wanted to pay. I asked for any 30's and not a single one could be found on the system. I went home disconsolate. Looked on line and saw they had this one and it was right under the salemans nose, i.e opposite his desk. When I queried it he said he didn't think of it as it was debadged. Doh! When he looked on their system he found that all the 30's had been lumped in with the old roadsters. So, they nearly lost a sale.

Cool thing is, it was still more than I wanted to pay. So I demurred somewhat and said the right deal would make me sign today, otherwise I would think about it. I asked for GAP +Smart repair to be thrown in (a cool £900) and they shook my hand on it.

I also tried a 3.0 auto before I bought the manual. The change of gear was quick, but I just don't like the gear lever. I prefer the one with DCT.

I will only get automatic if DCT gear lever and gearshift paddles with "left:down/righ:up" setup is fitted to the car. I think facelift E89 will have that.

Looks fantastic, great spec too. Makes the wait for mine even more tortuous.

what ya getting?

Lovely...alpine white with coral combo is an excellent choice. I was a hairs breadth away from an alpine/coral 35, delievery mileage and pre-reg with all the toys and I mean ALL of them. Cost £52k brand new but up for over £37k. However, I slapped myself about a bit and took a cold shower. Originally wanted to spend max £28k. However, saw this more reasonable one which is, of course, directly opposite, i.e red outside and white inside. Jeans will be banned!

Exhaust sounds good, ride much more supple than the old Zed, not so much a go kart more of a cruiser for a 55yr old. Will now be able to get missus in it for a drive down to South of France. She just wasn't keen on the old one for anything less than short hops.

Don't use the paddles, no need :driving:

Think that's the first red one I've seen - its looks amazing - congrats!

Interesting it has Sat Nav Pro but no Bluetooth (same as mine). Salesman thought I made a strange choice not going for Bluetooth, but I refuse at all costs to have a phone conversation when driving (even handsfree).

It does have blue tooth. It comes with the Pro Nav system and it works great with my Nokia E71.

oh very nice, only think i would not have is the light colour interior, but thats only cos i am a dirty begger

Looks amazing, and love the leather colour, although be careful :D

I really do think the new Z4's look like the old ones plus some lines from the Z3. Goes very well though, stunning car. And an armrest! Wheres my armrest

Ivory leather........................Like the poshest of restaurants, jeans are banned!

On a serious note, I need to ensure that I use a leather protector and cleaner on a regular basis to hold back the tide of marks that will, no doubt, accrue.

I use a car for work normally, but this one will not be put to such use. I'm in the market for a "cheap and cheerful" where I won't mind collecting door dings etc in the car park. However, I know that when it comes to 7am and the journey to work; 99% of it on A12 duel carriage against the traffic......the temptation may be too great! Especially on sunny dry days.
