Has anyone noticed that the edges of both seats, nearest to the transmission tunnel are not covered in leather? Or is it just mine?

I don't think it's possible to take a pic. Just put your hand down the side of the seat and give it a feel. Mine is drfinitely not leather. Got a bit of a suede feel to it.

I`m sure someone would have noticed when they have swapped out seats :dizzy:

Yes it’s not leather as this section rubs against the tunnel and is fabric to prevent squeaks.

Or BMW cheaped out.

You decide.

My new Merc has fabric in every part you can’t directly see. Cost saving deffo on that one.

My sport seats have the suede or rough leather on the trans tunnel sides, they are a face lift car.

The e85 sport seats also have a suede like material on the tunnel sides. Probably to stop any annoying squeaks.

Yes it because there could rub against the tunnel as they move backwards and forwards

Given the number of other noises in the car... I’m firmly on the cost cutting side ...
