Is it possible to setup the monitor so that it doesn't open automatically when the car ignition is on?
I would like to decide when it opens or close...

IF mine is closed when I turn the car off it stays closed when it’s restarted unless I select something that requires it and then it opens.

Take a look in the manual 😉

Use the menu to get to the option to open/close the screen. Press & hold the button. Simple as that. You can program any of the buttons to any function option (at least I can on mine, I assume that’s a normal iDrive CIC thing).
As well as test, I have programmed day/ night mode, navigate to home, cancel nav as well as some music related options.
If I just touch the button without pressing it, it shows what the does on the screen. Very clever!

They are actually really clever. Almost every option you can find on the iDrive screen can be programmed onto one of the buttons. I have the screen close on 8 so I can find it without looking. I prefer it closed when driving at night. And I love how you can see what the button will do by just touching but not pressing the button.

I have: navigate home, stop navigating, day/night view (2009 software so no auto switch), close screen. Can’t remember what else I have...
