Still looking for an E89 - really want a 3 litre in red - but that colour is rare as hens' teeth - plenty of lesser engines in red but after my old 3,0SE I would always want the bigger engine - this one has been advertised for a while - looks good in white and would look even better with my reg on it ! - not an M sport but that doesn't bother me too much - mileage good - not viewed it yet - MOT history okay .

Seems a bit pricey but 3.0 E89 in manual are harder to source - could part ex my current car or just make it a cash purchase - views ?

Tony

Pretty low on spec. White is pretty meh imo makes the car look flat as a pancake when it has really nice curves. Wheels are the same imo.

Comparison

Pretty much any of the other colours will look better. Its personal preference but I would never buy white for that reason have no idea why its so popular.

TBH for that sort of money and a touch more I would get into a 35i. Ive seen people get in 40k 35I M sports for that sort of money and the 35 generally seem to have better spec.

White is hands down the best colour for the E89, although that grey is a close second. The problem with your photo comparison is the grey E89 is an Msport with 326s AND a much better photography angle so will always look better!

To the OP, I'd say its worth 13k if it is as clean as it looks

I agree PP44. They look great in white, especially with the red leather :D

I know what you say Tom - it's all about personal choice - to me grey is a bit bland - followed a white E89 once coming down from Yorkshire - have to say it looked stunning and not many about - as for the wheels - similar to my old 108's - always liked those and ( correct me if I'm wrong ) not prone to the dreaded cracking ! one of the major drawbacks of living on the IOW is you just can't get in a car and go and view - means an expensive ferry and a whole lot of time - after 2 hrs from our house we are still not outside of Southampton :( we are off next Wednesday to visit our son in Farnham so will try to persuade SWMBO to detour to have a decko :D

Thats too expensive.

Oh and watch these wheels, they are bad for corroding around the areas where the joining bolts for the split rims are mounted. This is mainly caused by people using aggressive alloy cleaners and it doesnt get washed out of these little recesses.

I had a 59 plate 23i with almost identical spec but in DSB with 23000 miles on it. I know its not the same engine but it was £3500 cheaper than the white one.....is the 30i really worth an additional £3500?

3.0i manual is adding to the price afaic by a good 1.5k. If it's mint I can't see why it wouldn't be worth 12k. Nav is overrated

this one has turned up - good provenance including MOT history and in RED - mileage although average is 72k :( having said this it would be a weekend car doing very little mileage

For me I would prefer that Red one. Just maybe a little too leggy.

Agree the nav isn't worth getting sweaty over if a low use weekend car but even at £12k a 2009 3.0i manual sub 50k still looks expensive at £12k

I actually thought it was a 2011 plate for some reason so my bad. I'd go for the red leathered grey one if I had the choice.

I wouldn't want the white one at that price - if it had red seats I'd be more tempted, but white with black is a bit blah IMHO! And those wheels are definitely going to be a PITA (says the man with 108s).

The red one looked good, until I saw the seats. :( Sport means basic - M-Sport is what is needed in what is marketed as a sports car!

Then I got to the one mrwilks highlighted - much better colour combo.

But if I was looking for an E89 it would have to be Valencia Orange - an actual colour, who'd have thought it! :)
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Agreed.....
The grey one definitely looks to be the Best Buy of all 3.
