2.0 Msport prices
Hi all,
Am considering a 4 year newer e89. Seen a 2.0 Msport at a none bmw dealer.
Has done 21k and is well specced with:
Pro nav
Pro audio
Comfort access
Parking sensors
Auto lights/wipers
Extended light package
Heated seats
Wind deflector.
Whats a fair price from a none BMW dealer? Car is 2013(63) - 1 owner and FSH (3 services).
No idea about condition yet as not seeing it till next week, they say its excellent though.
Just wondering what sort of money you think its worth from a dealer?
They are talking about offering me £8800 for my excellent condition 2009(59) 23 sdrive with 23000 miles on it which I think is a bit tight...

Ok thanks.....
Forgot to add, this car has 326s also.
It’s up for £15800 so price seems fair.
What extras did yours have? I thought this one was as well specced as I’ve seen.....

Typical dealers - £8800 for a very low mileage 23 sdrive 59 reg mark up probably £2k+ - car you're buying is top money - but it's a dealer so you have to expect this - you're paying for a warranty and peace of mind I suppose.
I quite like the new 2.0 four pots - acceleration 0-62 allegedly 6.9 secs ( no slouch ) lower tax and better mpg than the 6 pot

Sell yours private, if its a full spec car it's worth at least £10500.Kugaman1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 11:07 am Hi all,

Its deep sea blue with black leather....
Not full spec tho...has f/r parking, heated seats, wind deflector and 18” alloys, thats about it options wise.....
Might scupper the deal as I just dont think I could take that for it......I really want nearer £10k but hes offering a max of £8800. If he wont budge, I will just keep a hold of it as its too nice a car to giveaway at that money...
Its got a fsh (bmw then independant) and is faultless.

Hi, why don't you try selling your 23i on here then you can still get the car you want without feeling like you've been robbed

Im a bit limited by time constraints. The msport Im going to look at is 400 miles away. (Im visiting family nearby so its not just a trip to see the car)......but we are going down there on Saturday. If Im gonna do the deal, I would kinda need to decide there and then.....
As things stand, I have no plans to let him have mine for £8800, so the deal looks like a none starter.

Perhaps if you liked their car you could put a deposit on it to give you a months grace & giving time to sell your car?Kugaman1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 10:36 am Im a bit limited by time constraints. Maybe, will wait and see on Saturday.
Obviously, trade in is the easiest, most painless route, but if the offer is lowball, it scuppers the deal!

Its always a conundrum making the numbers add up , right now id bear in mind the market is pretty weak especially for a early 23i on se spec ( even if low miles & minted )
You could try for £10k but end up nearer £9k & not find another car you really like for the price you have with this one ?

Yup,
Definitely a tough call.
Its getting to the time of year where values drop off.....who wants a folding roof rear wheel drive in the winter....
Trade guides quickly drop prices to reflect this but forecourt retail prices dont follow as quickly for cars already in stock....

So, any 2.0 turbo owners out there....
When I test drive this 63 plate LCI car, is there anything I need to look out for?
Ive got the none LCI so am aware of the basics to check, but did the LCI facelift introduce any issues? Any common faults with the engine?
It’s always handy to know if any issues that need looking at before taking the plunge!

as Wilksy said, an early SE car with the least desirable engine in the e89 range 8800 isnt stupid, even if your car is very low miles.
Id take the hit as from your posts it seems youve never been truly happy with your 23i and havent had it that long?
