Terrible Insurance Renewal 35is...
So I have called around, my insurance company would not budge off £1800
So i called a couple of specialists and went through 2 comparison sites. No one was cheaper than £1800. Considering I paid £1175 last year this sucks. I have more than 1 car and this would put me at around £3000 a year for insurance which is alot. Not sure what to do at this point, never expected it to just rocket up.
Not sure if I can justify almost £2k in insurance for a car i dont drive that much

You could try insuring them together. ESure let me mirror my NCB for my second car and also gave me a crazy low price of £200 when every comparison site was quoting upward of £600.
I certainly wouldn't pay £1800 for insurance. It was one of the reasons I stuck to a 320d when I was your age.

Give your post code an insurance check. Have you moved?
https://www.visitcars.co.uk/car-insuran ... -risk.html
Sounds stupid but have you declared it in a garage? My quotes on a 35IS were £200 more with it declared in the garage rather on the street, which is ridiculous. Stupid liabilities like if the house goes up in flames the car will too etc etc Change up the quote and check it.
Also sounds crap but getting a box put in the car will reduce the cost.
The reason to get a car like a 35IS or a Z4M is because they are generally cheaper to insure than the other brand cars because they are so rare therefore the statistic of the amount that are crashed damaged and written off are much lower.
I reason I ended up in a Z4M at 23 was because the insurance was more than 50% cheaper than an E46 M3 which is what I was after at the time. The E46 was going to be about £2k and the Z was about £750

I have a 35is and a 140i insured on a multi car policy with Aviva. I have just had my annual renewal with them and its £650 for both cars. Worth giving them a go.

DO NOT use price comparison sites, you will pay a premium to them on top of your motor insurance itself.
If you use them look for the deals then contact the insurer direct.
Try Direct Line, if you have more than one car, add your house, and like me a Buy To Let portfolio its almost free.
Besides giving great pricing they, more importantly ALWAYS pay out no matter what in my experience.

Note sure whether this will help you, but hopefully it does.
I've owned a z4 coupe since I was 20, I'm now 23, have had a speeding offence in the past 5 years, no longer showing on my licence, and a non-fault accident which insurers always love an answer for i.e ££££, but I do comparison sites and then handle directly with the cheapest insurer to get around the fees.
If it's true the quote they have given you, they're taking you for a ride, literally, and you should definitely shop around in future.
I'm currently insuring with Direct Line under a comprehensive policy which includes business usage, this was done in August, not that long ago and I paid around £800 for the year, I have my parents on the policy as second drivers who hardly ever use the vehicle, by doing this the price reduces a little so it's always worth it

Add your girlfriend to the policy or your mum, will definitely make it cheaper. I'm 40 and still add people to get the price down.

Try telling them its parked on the road rather than in a garage, Mine came down when parked on the rd, do you have a private registration? I have to put my old reg in for cheapest quotes then change it over after accepting price.

I must be doing something wrong? I insured my 35is with AXA when i bought it in June 2017 and it cost me £420 per year fully comprehensive with £0 excess?
