OK, I'll go first.
No.
But I'm really on the fence as to whether it's worth it? Could go either way.
Do it - it's fairly mild and easy enough to put back!

To me that sounds like someone took a drill to their Vauxhall Nova and put it straight through the box.
I think the car sounds lovely as it is!

I don't think moving the flaps to permanently open will affect the engine Ben.

So, no problem, Ben, but why lose a feature?
Leave it alone and you have a variable exhaust. Disable it and you don't.

Golf Tee was very popular in the E46 330i days, basically the theory is that a vacuum line operates a butterfly valve in the exhaust. By blanking this vacuum line, the valve stays open all of the time and makes for a slightly louder experience.
There should be no negative side effects, apart from a bit more noise.. (I haven't watched the attached vid but if you Google Golf Tee mod you'll get loads of E46 posts)

I didn't realise there was still people out there with the vacuum line still attached
It's just a flap that lowers exhaust noise. The flap opens when you get above a certain RPM threshold or a certain pedal position.
It opens sooner when the roof is down.
I've had it unplugged for the last 3 and a half years. Gives a nice low rumble to enjoy while sat in traffic.

I was surprised by how burbly my 35i sounded and only after coming across this mod did I check underneath and then had the explanation for what the little S shaped rubber tube was for that I found next to the battery..my car was done in tghe past and as far as I am concerned is better for it!

I tried this. Then plugged it back in as while it's ok at rural speeds it increases drone on the motorway.

I think it's ok in standard form !
Sometimes its better in a stealth mode but also very nice to be able to wake the dead in sports when the mood takes.

Is it dramatically louder or just a touch? Debating doing this too
