Re: E89 Z4 styling options
Hi,
I agree with all post, additional parts are stupid money - and most E89's have very subtle mods.
I think my Z as been more adventurous than been conservative - however its down to personal preference.

Pity James i pmd him last year when I bought my e89 but never replied. I wrapped my bumpers & they look good,so happy with the results.James Junior wrote:Hi Kermit,KERMIT1970 wrote:viewtopic.php?f=23&t=47261&hilit=E89+carbon+fibre
Here's r1andy post
Thanks for reposting, yep that was definitely the thread I was thinking of.
Such a shame he didn't keep making the parts - I bet we could have rounded up a number of owners for a group buy.
They look fantastic.

Can I ask what spoiler you have on the front and how good do the wing mirror covers look in the flesh? Do they look stuck on?

Look good. A little expensive though. Were they quick to post and easy to fit?

Re: E89 Z4 styling options
I like that Twin Turbo - lots of little subtle touches that make the car unique looking. I saw an M3 with that coloured grille at a Pistonheads Sunday Service event last year and though it looked really good.
I will also definitely be looking at a Smart Top too when I get mine. Getting impatient now as nothing is coming up for sale and I am ready to go....
Kermit - sounds like you have done exactly what I had in mind with the black wrapped bits. Do you have any pics you could share please? I quote fancy a red car and was thinking of doing the centre of the front bumper, the diffuser on the rear bumper and the roof in black.
Then a change of wheels, some subtle spacers, maybe a small drop and a nice exhaust would all add up to a rather special looking and sounding car.
Then there is the Smart Top of course. And the all important stubby... Hmmm this may get a little costly! Might have to smuggle the mods in through the office so Mrs Junior doesn't notice...

Re: E89 Z4 styling options
James, with hindsight I would hydropaint the car not wrapp. As I had to replace the wrapped wing mirrors with the Tekarbon due to this issue:-

Re: E89 Z4 styling options
Kermit, are your mirrors wrapped or painted black.
On another note, do you find your self just looking at E89's and loose your self - a bit like car porn lol
And yet another fine example of an Z4 and there are lots of them on here

Re: E89 Z4 styling options
I like the idea of carbon wrapping the diffuser. My grey diffuser is the only bit of the styling I don't like.
No one's found a good reasonably priced rear spoiler yet? I'd love to have one of them!

Re: E89 Z4 styling options
Love that Kermit - looks fantastic and makes me want a red one all the more. Would love to see more pics when it's been detailed. How is your wrap holding up against wear and tear?
Tried enquiring about the red on with Partridge BMW but struggled to get an answer when I called, whilst twice when I called last week someone picked up the phone and then immediately put the receiver down. Then I called again Sunday morning and got through to someone and asked for the used car department. After putting me on hold for 30 seconds he came back and confirmed in a uncertain tone:
'er...your interested in a used car right?'
Me: 'yes, that's what I said'
'Oh right....errrr....is it a BMW?'
Wow, why is this proving so difficult?! No one was able to speak to me so I gave him my details and told him I was interested in the red Z4 35is. I've still not had a call back. Good job guys.
Combined with some dubious Google reviews and the fact that I would have to deal with them at a distance given that I'm in a Manchester and they're in Southampton, I've decided to give them a wide berth.

Wraps holding up fine. It's gloss black but not scratched at all. One of the mirrors started peeling, but redone just before Christmas & it's perfect. Good luck with your searchJames Junior wrote:Love that Kermit - looks fantastic and makes me want a red one all the more. Would love to see more pics when it's been detailed.
