Please can you advise the insurer of this scheme as I guess you're a broker?

ok, thats great. bhp per tonne, the westy wins hands down, as it would on a 0-60 time. if that counts, thats great as insurance up for renewal soon.

Just bought a 3.0 Z4 and it is the first performance car that "I've" owned, however I am a class one advanced police driver and have been driving a volvo s60 T5 for the past year and a half. Would this count??

Yes, I think that would be OK.

Personally, with a Liverpool postcode, although I don't live in the city I think it's appalling that insurance companies apply blanket policies to whole areas. I have had one claim (for vandalism) in the last 15 years and never been involved in an accident that was my fault in 30 years of driving.

I hope one day we see an insurer hook up with the club that looks at individual drivers and their claims history rather than their postcode :x

Rant over

You do have a point mate, I know lots of places in Liverpool that are perfectly safe (and a lot that are not). Insurance companies on the whole are not fair in that way... I have had less crashes in the last 10 years than my Mum, yet because she is a woman she gets cheaper insurance... I always wondered how they can have male/female as a demographic for cheap insurance, yet they can't do black/white (not that they SHOULD, absolutely not... but what's the difference?)

Sorry they won't do anything for you, I'm sure Tim would work something out on the basis you said if he could, but I'm sure it's not his call. I am quite sure he will pass on your (our) view though.

Funnily enough, the insurers once did make the 'exclusions' to specific postcodes within these areas but it didn't work.

I believe they insure all sorts of vehicles... sounds like they are busy though, so might be best to give them a call rather than waiting for a reply :D

The scheme really took off in 2008 - better than we expected - so thanks to those of you who insured on it.

We look forward to being of service in 2009 as well.

Got a quote from Chris Knott today for my new Z4MC.

After going back to my current insurer (Privilege) and then checking confused.com, Chris Knott managed to save me about £70 on the best quote I had plus the excess is significantly lower.

Very pleased and well recommended :D
