E85 v E89 price

Post by Zoomer » Tue Nov 28, 2017 7:55 pm

As per title for those guys who have migrated from E85 to E89 , I would be interested to here if there is a premium difference between these models ( obviously as close spec to spec) . My reason , seriously contemplating a move to an E89 next year so that I can do a spot of touring, possible in Europe. At the mo I have a 3.0 E85 , so I guess I would look at a 3/3.5 E89 depending on price and spec.
I guess Mr Wilks would be an obvious choice to ask but hopefully there are a few more who have migrated.

Many thanks

Why can't you tour in your E85?, you will have more boot space for a start :|

I would think the E89 3.0 would be cheaper to insure than a 35i/35is as the latter two are turbo charged, the 3.0 isn't. Not sure about the UK, but here it's more expensive to insure a turbo, unless it's something like my 1.4 turbo Suzuki Vitara where it's more about torque than speed :-).

The E85 is capable of touring, it's just the hardtop of the E89 floats my boat for long distance touring, plus I understand it's more of a"GT". But thanks for the replies.
