I bought one of these SGS 2T low profile jobbies and whilst it's good for the money it started slowly dropping under load after several uses over 18 months which is a bit off-putting. I Probably should have spent a bit more (once)

I have a Clarke 1.5t Ali race jack from machine mart, not cheap but great bit of kit. Halfords middle range torque wrench, also not that cheap but solid.

I'm after a new wheel Jack, my old scissor jack leans at 30 degrees when it raises
Was considering this one from Halfords:

I have this SGS 3ton low profile http://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-e ... olley-jack
Had it for 2 1/2 years with regular use and no problems. It is large and heavy but i saw that as a positive when looking for a jack it feels very sturdy.
Also dont forget to get some axel stands if you haven't already

Could be possible that the fluid needs topping up and bleeding? if air gets in then it will compress allowing the jack to lower. mine came with instructions on how to replace the fluid and bleedEwazix wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2017 9:56 am I bought one of these SGS 2T low profile jobbies and whilst it's good for the money it started slowly dropping under load after several uses over 18 months which is a bit off-putting. Thank you, yes are right it has to be fluid/air or a leaky seal I suppose. I did check the fluid and it seemed OK but have just emailed SGS about it to see what they say. Thing is I've got a cheap Halfords one that must be 20 years old and have never given a problem despite being used and abused so it's odd that the SGS is giving outadam1985 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2017 11:56 amCould be possible that the fluid needs topping up and bleeding? if air gets in then it will compress allowing the jack to lower. mine came with instructions on how to replace the fluid and bleedEwazix wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2017 9:56 am I bought one of these SGS 2T low profile jobbies and whilst it's good for the money it started slowly dropping under load after several uses over 18 months which is a bit off-putting. I would avoid SGS purely based on there customer service!
If you had a problem don't expect it to be fixed.... you have been warned.

Hey guys,
How does a generic trolley jack mate with the specific jacking point of the Zed? I hear there is a hardened rubber adapter?

Well, SGS emailed me straight back with a link to the process for purging, unfortunately it hasn't cured the problemEwazix wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2017 12:08 pmThank you, yes are right it has to be fluid/air or a leaky seal I suppose.
