Glad you like them.
No not at all...they drop miles too low for me. I've adjusted my seat up quite high

Leesfarm07 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2017 7:11 pm Picked up the M3 seats this morning from Jamie_z4 and fitted them this afternoon......wow they are something else. All electric memory heated with air pumped side bolsters and lumber supports. They fit absolutely no probs and are plug and play with the old wiring. Compromises obviously with no shoulder seat belt guide and the seat tilt leaver just catches when the seat is right back but these are minor issues. Will have to put my thinking cap on. Cheers Jamie
All you need to do is cut the lever down and sand it smooth. You could leave it off all together but it's handy access for the storage behind the seats.πŸ‘πŸΌ
They do sit higher. Slightly. For some reason that I can't explain, and even though they are more comfortable, the car felt better with the original seats. It may be that extra height, I don't know, but I miss my old ones.

I've never sat in the sports seats I'm afraid
They certainly look more padded than Z4 Sport seats, although possibly not quite as shaped if that makes sense?

The tilt release is a push-on plastic item AFAIK, so if you pull it off carefully OP there will still be a short metal lever sticking out but it won't interfere as much and hopefully you could find something to cover it with! Or maybe just cut down the plastic cover?

Anyway a quick photo of a Sport seat for comparison:-

Thats interesting about the lever thank you
The sports seats look lightweight as well...I see they use a different style of shoulder seat belt guide...I need to fabrucate something as it a bit high on the body without
wow, this list looks a nice upgrade on the standard SE seats especially with the adjustable bolster and lumbar supports. Well done
I think the M3 seats also have a tilt release on the inner side of the seat, which is a lot shorter. Could you replace the outer long tilt release with one of these shorter ones?
BMW also do a seat belt guide for the E46 seats, which utilises the headrest mounts. Would this be an option? Here's one I found on eBay (I hope the link works) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=e46+s ... oxJtIJPFuM:

Thats perfect....that's just what I'm after thank you for finding that
Yes there is a smaller inner lever on the passenger seat...I'll take a look and see if that can be used on the drivers outer lever instead....good shout
Isn't this forum brilliant...there's always someone who has a solution for whatever problem arises
Well done Davros..perfect.

Mike
Jamie sent me a pic of where a friend had put it which fits well. The metal bracket attached to the end of the belt bolts between the floor and the rear hole on the runner clamping it securely to the floor. Ideally be nice to fabricate a bracket that clamped under the same hole but came up the side of the runner and then the seat belt could be bolted to that.

For access just set one of the seat memory positions as the seat fully forward, easier than holding the button down.

Looks like a massive upgrade over the se seats. A wise choice using e46 ones given the silly prices z4 sport seats go for

Hopefully I am collecting some MSport seats from Milton Keynes at the end of the month. I'll let you know if it all goes smoothly.
