I bought the most basic of Z4 you can get and upgraded it via Ebay and scrap yards, now has heated seats, electric folding mirrors, cruise control, roof motor in the boot, just about to upgrade the front bumper and lights and then on to the rear bumper, what is wrong with you lot, where is your sense of adventure and DIY????? :D :D :D

Not standard on any car, but think more E85 would have than not in the UK.

I did. And a year into ownership decided to retrofit heated seats. Mine is used all year round and I really missed not having the heated seats, more so as we have them in the coupe. All my cars in future will have heated seats

What age is the Z your looking at OP, early ones have the wiring loom, so you should be able to get another set of seats and plug them in.
Remember, the heater in these cars is fantastic too.

I wouldn't buy anything other than a town runabout type car (micra, fiesta etc) without heated seats. There's loads of Zeds with the option so shouldn't be a problem to find another if it's something you really want.

Only things on my must have list were Sport, manual, privacy glass, not a dark colour and heated seats. Everybody has different priorities but most seem to have them.Even if you don't use them, next owner might want them.

Heated seats were a must for me. Definitely worth holding out for them.

It's so nice driving on a cold day with the roof down and the heated seats on, sometimes better than having the heaters turned on full blast (listen to the car rather that the blowers).

There are just under 300 E85 Roadies (2003-07) on Autotrader at the moment, 136 advertised with heated seats, so call it 50-50 8)

My e85 doesn't have heated seats. Did not look for them when buying the car as it was an impulse buy at the time. My past experiences with heated seats I don't care for them. They made me feel as though I had wet myself, so spent more time off than on.
Out of interest it was said earlier that the e85 had the loom for the heated seats. Was this before a certain year like the cruise control loom.

Matthew. wrote: Sun May 21, 2017 5:21 pm Hi guys,

As you may have seen in my 'wanted' thread in the for sale section; I'm looking for another Z4.

I've seen a car in the ideal spec for me (Montego Blue, Grey seats etc) however the seats aren't heated.

Would I miss them and would it be hard to shift when I want to sell it down the line!??

My head says wait but I'm eager to find my new Z.

Matt
Theres plenty of companies out there that'll retrofit the heated element in your seats, and rig them up to the OEM switches if you can find them on ebay. So its no major ball ache if the cars right for you other than that.

Love my heated seats, means you can drive the Zed top down for longer over the year. Not sure why the 'naysayers' just say it's for warming your bum, I absolutely love the warmth on the lower and mid back areas, I can feel the stress and tension melting away, making a great car even more enjoyable  .
Anyone who says it's 'soft' should immediately trade in their Z4 for a Caterham or Ariel Atom, or else they're not practising what they preach
